Membership of Patient Group
In theory every registered young person and adult is a member of the Practice’s Patient Group as anyone should feel as though they can comment on the way the Practice currently operates and on changes in the way the Practice provides services in the future.
However, realistically a smaller number of patients wish to participate in a more formal way by being part of a Patient Participation Group. The Practice has been very fortunate over the years to have had the support and guidance from a number of patients acting as ‘critical friends’ to the Practice:
Mrs Alice Harding
Mr Roger Lambert
Mr Alec Smith
Mr Brian Simpson
Mrs Barbara Starkiss
The core membership has also included members of the Practice team:
Mrs Karen Button (Chair)
Mrs Beverley Drummond
Staff representative from Churchinford Surgery - TBC
Mrs Jenny Moore
Dr Stuart Murray
Mrs Claire Perrott
Patient Group Terms of Reference
Over the last year the Practice has continued to expand the membership of a wider ‘virtual group’ of patients who are welcome to attend 6-monthly patient group meetings but who may prefer to rather than attend a formal meeting, provide feedback by e-mail. Therefore we have asked new adults registering with the Practice, patients with long-term conditions who are attending in for their annual check and patients who have contacted the Practice Manager to make suggestions in order to improve services whether they would like to become a member of the Patient Participation Group.
Our membership has now increased to 113 patients (as at 18/3/2012) and is still growing which is excellent.
In terms of being representative of our patient demography, the age, sex and ethnicity breakdown of the patient group can be viewed HERE
