Health Visitors

The Health Visiting Service for The Blackdown Practice is based at Hemyock Surgery.

Health Visitors may be contacted by telephone on 01884 836004 direct line or via the Surgery Reception on 01823 680206.

The team works with families to promote physical and emotional health and wellbeing. The team works in partnership with members of the community and other agencies, such as Culm Valley Children’s Centre, to identify and tackle inequalities in health.

The Health Visiting Service offer a ‘drop in’ session on Tuesday mornings from 10.30 -11.30. The session is social and for wellbeing, to discuss issues and concerns, to explore play and to meet other parents and carers. There is still the facility for parents to weigh their babies and to be supported with this if needed (if parents are unable to do this themselves)

To avoid spreading illness, please do not bring babies and children that are unwell. In these cases, parents should seek advice from the child’s GP or call 111.
